GW,都市によってはイベントの中止、映画館のクローズが
続いています。

大作は、公開のペンディング状態のものが少なくありません。

そんな中、公開される予定の英国映画があります。
もし、GW中にコロナにまつわるさらなる問題が
起きなければ英国映画「ジェントルメン」が
公開されるはずです。

この作品は、ロンドンのマリファナ王が引退するという
噂が広まり、利権をその後だれが手にするのか？で
さまざまなジェントルメン（というタイトルですが、ワルども）が
騙し、裏切り、出し抜き、最後に笑うのは誰？
というスリリングな話です。

映画の冒頭は、レトロスタイルのパブですし、
パブリックスクールや名門大学を足掛かりに、
裏では金繰りに悩む貴族をもひそかに
巻き込んでトップに上り詰めたミッキー（マシュー・マコノヒー）。
彼を巡るジェントルメンたちが、
チャーリー・ハナム、ヒュー・グラント、コリン・ファレルら
豪華俳優陣。監督はガイ・リッチー。

よくも悪くも英国らしい小ネタが所々に差し込まれているので、
英国映画ファンは絶対に楽しめるはずです。

私も冒頭から「ああ、パブでピクルド・エッグを食べながら
エールを飲みたい」などと思ってしまいました。

ジェントルメンは、5月7日公開予定。

Drama at my drama class: One time my drama class’s teacher had gone home sick so we were just put in a classroom with a movie to entertain us for the period when an alarm went off. None of us were sure if it was the fire alarm or the lockdown alarm, so we all head out into the hall to check and no one’s out there, so we head back in and climb under our desks as is lockdown procedure. Cut to an hour or so later when a teacher bursts in and nearly dies of relief because the school was on fire and we were the only students not accounted for and half the faculty and fire department had been searching for us for ages.
